Cayman Tourism Reaps Professional Awards
The Caymanian Compass, our local newspaper, reports today that Cayman has once again featured well in several tourism related awards.
Scuba Diving magazine ranks Grand Cayman #9 worldwide for shore diving. Cayman’s reefs are very easy swimming distance from shore, so all dive operations located on the water have dive ladders and maps indicating the nearby dive sites.
Most operations do a steady business in shore diving – a great advantage for tourists who pay only for the tank and don’t have to engage a boat. Cayman’s Westin resort has just won the Wine Spectator’s 2011 Award of Excellence – for service, expertise and the distinction of their wine list. Or maybe its the spectacular waterfront view that won over the Spectator’s staff. Caribbean Travel and Life magazine has again nominated the Cayman Islands for Best Destination and several local businesses for ‘best of’ awards – Cotton Tree (Best Small Hotel up to 75 Rooms); Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman (Best Family Resort, Best Caribbean Spa) and Westin Casuarina (Best Family Resort.). We’re pleased as punch!
