Information Commissioner's Office

The Commissioner's office promotes access rights to Government records and monitors the compliance of public authorities with the Freedom of Information Law, 2007. It hears, investigates and rules on appeals filed under the Freedom of Information Law (2007), monitors and reports on the compliance by public authorities with their obligations under the Law, makes recommendations for reform both of a general nature and directed at specific public authorities, refers cases where it appears that a criminal offence has been committed and publicises the requirements of the Law and the right of individuals under it.
