More famous for
its idyllic sun-drenched beaches and heavenly weather, the Cayman Islands
witnessed a fast and furious brush against the elements when we were
faced with the tail of Hurricane Michelle over the weekend.
Many businesses
on the George Town waterfront suffered the brunt of damage and the main
harbour front road and other main roads were closed off to the public.
For the most part, residents and businesses located away from the beach
front, did not experience more than unsettled weather conditions.
However, already
residents and business people alike are pulling together in a true Cayman-style
unified manner to help clean up the Island and repair damaged property.
Some of the attached
photos show the devastation incurred by the local community, but we
are all very confident that Cayman will be back on its feet again shortly
and open for business.
